DIY Projects!

Eric has been busy with DIY projects for the boys. I know he is very talented and good with wood, but he still pleasantly surprises me every time!

Keegan's room is cowboy themed, so Eric made this sign out of pallet boards and I did the painting.

Korbin's room is going to be a vintage feel fishing theme. I found some fish and ideas that I liked but the prices on them were a bit CRAZY high and the ones that weren't, looked pretty cheap and not what I was wanting. So Eric said he could make something similar. Well he made something much much better for a lot cheaper!! He drew this large mouth bass fish free handed and on one try, then cut it and stained it! I am so excited about it!

Eric made this busy board for Keegan. Keegan loves anything that's mechanical and it will keep him entertained for awhile. Plus there's still space left for us to add on more challenging things as he gets older.

And last but not least, Eric made Keegan this sandbox.
I found a similar idea on Pinterest where the sandbox can close and when its open, the kids can have somewhere to sit and play. We especially need one that closes to keep the cats out too.
He did an amazing job on it and without any kind of blueprint!
I have one very talented husband!

Here it is all done and stained!

Spring Camping

The past couple of days we went down to Montauk State Park for some trout fishing, hiking, and camping. The weather was wonderful and with it still being a little cool outside, we didn't have to deal with any mosquitoes. It's been a while since we've gone camping and on a float trip, but when we do, its usually on the Current River. The Current River is probably one of the prettiest rivers in Missouri. The water is so clear!  When the depths of the water change, so does the different shades of blue. So it was neat to camp at Montauk where the Current River actually starts and go hiking to see the spring.
Keegan loved camping and fishing. Fishing is probably all he talked about and whenever anyone would walk by us, he would show them his fishing pole. I think he really liked camping in the pop up camper or as he calls it "the house wagon". I guess he calls it that since we tow it behind the truck like a normal wagon and then it pops up into what seems like to him a little house. But I think what he liked most about it, is that he got to wake up, get changed, and then head outside to play.

Easter 2013

We had a wonderful Easter with egg hunts, church, and visiting with both my side and Eric's side of the family! It was a lot of fun this year with Keegan being very excited about seeing what the Easter bunny left him and getting the hang of hunting eggs. All though by the third egg hunt, he just wanted to play.
We couldn't have asked for better weather either! We are ready for Spring!

 Hunting eggs!

Keegan then used his Gator to drive up to the eggs at Grandpa and Grandma Mintert's!

 He's getting better at reverse!

Keegan and his ducky!
He is very attached to this duck and talks to it while he drives around. He even tells the duck to hold on right before he takes off.
