The boys first trip out to Colorado was a success! We had a great time snowboarding and hanging out there with friends! The first day the boys were in ski/ride school with Colton and Titus, while the adults went out together and did the harder runs. Korbin wanted to snowboard but they didn't have ride school for his age so he enjoyed being in ski school with his buddy Titus. Keegan kept on moving up with snowboarding, that he ended up with 9th graders. Then they left halfway through so he got some one on one time with the instructor! The instructor did wonders with Keegan and he was carving in no time! It was also fun running into them on the mountain (well kind of stalking the boys throughout the day) and seeing his progress. The second day the four of us went out together and Korbin got to snowboard with us then. Usually you learn to stop on your heal side first and then your toe side. Not Korbin. We are impressed that he is learning to stop toe sided first. Keystone is the most kid and family friendly place we have ever been to. At the top of the mountain they even had a snow fort that the boys liked playing in.
On the third day the four of us went ice fishing on Lake Dillon. We all caught some fish with Keegan catching the most. He sat there for three and half hours with not moving his spot. Korbin caught his first fish and then went over and took a nap on the frozen lake. He has taken naps at a lot of different places but that one is a first for him. Everyday the boys got to go swimming and play in the hot tub. After fishing we then headed back to Denver to meet up with some family that lives there to eat dinner and say hi. Doug is a big fly fisherman and had Keegan's attention the whole time! Keegan can now not wait to learn how to make his own flies. The last night we then stayed at the airports hotel where the boys got to play with Colton and Titus one last night before it was time to go home. Then the next morning we heading over and waited the longest time ever in TSA! We were there for so long that we almost missed our flight!!! Our flight left at 7:00 and we boarded at 6:55! We were running through the airport Home Alone style. That was the moment where Eric said we are driving next year.
It was a wonderful trip that all of us enjoyed!
Keegan found out we were going ice fishing and wanted to bring his own stuff. I had to take a picture of how cute it was before I told him the guide was suppling everything for us.
