Chestnut Mountain

With the weather being so warm this winter, we haven't done much snowboarding. Hidden Valley had already closed and we wanted one more day of boarding, so we went up to Chestnut Mountain in northern Illinois. Their mountain over looks the Mississippi River and they have a nice ski in and ski out lodge. With it being their last day that they were open, their snow was pretty slushy and muddy in some areas due to the warm weather. It was better than nothing and the boys didn't seem to mind. We are so proud of how well they did. Keegan was really using his toe edge and doing jumps, and Korbin went down all the way without falling! In the beginning we were using the riglet reel with Korbin so he wouldn't get out of control and go flying down the hill. But towards the end he was able to do it all on his own!

Then the next day on the way home, we surprised the boys by going to John Deere's World Headquarters. They have a few different places in the town of Moline that you can visit. We went to the pavilion where they could get on all the equipment and play with games and toys. Of course Korbin was skipping through the building with a big smile on his face. And it didn't take long for Keegan to find something to do with engineering that he wanted to stay at.

On the magic carpet.

It's hard to see the boys in there with the lighting.

Eric even had to check the machinery out.
